A Different Look at the People in the Aftermath of Disaster
The media has shown many images of the devastation Hurricane Harvey caused to our city of Houston. Some of our friends abroad thought the entire city was destroyed.
In the eyes of the natural disaster, the true face of the people came to light. Anime Matsuri’s home, the George R. Brown Convention center, in downtown Houston was turned into a Disaster Relief Shelter. Thousands of volunteers and organizations jumped at the opportunity to help.
The George. R. Brown Convention Center is like our second home and the staff has become our extended family. We took our kids, Jetson and Josslyn, in Gundam RX-78 and Chun-Li cosplay respectively, a full bag of DragonBall Z toys, and went to help. The goal was to make people smile.
