Danny Choo brings Culture Japan, Smart Doll and more to Anime Matsuri 2017
Dues to scheduling problems, Danny Choo cannot be at Anime Matsuri 2017. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Born in the UK to Chinese Malaysian parents and currently residing in Tokyo since 1999, Danny Choo is the creator of a brand called Culture Japan which shares Japanese culture through in-house produced TV Shows, Character Content and a Fashion Doll known as Smart Doll.
Danny also writes about life in Japan as a foreigner on his blog and has been doing so regularly since 2004.
Mirai Suenaga & Friends
Created by Danny Choo back in 2007, Mirai Suenaga (pronounced “mee-rai soo-eh-na -gah”) is the mascot character for Culture Japan and heroine for the story Mirai Millennium.
Originally created with the purpose to prettify the website “dannychoo.com,” Mirai ended up turning out to be more than a website mascot and went on to collaborate with various anime and game companies such as Square Enix, Good Smile Company, Bushiroad, Ascii Media Works, King Records and Nitroplus.
In February 2015, Mirai participate with me in the Japan Cabinet’s Cool Japan Strategy Committee.
Smart Doll is a new standard in fashion dolls that not only enable fashion designers, artists and photographers to enhance their creativity, but to also enrich the lives of folks who not only appreciate Japanese culture – but cute things too.
Designed by Danny Choo, Smart Doll encompasses Japanese cultural elements such as design philosophy, the Anime (Japanese animation) look and feel through to the traditional casting methods used in the manufacturing process right here in Japan.
